Role Overview

The Inventory Control Specialist (Cycle Counter) is responsible for maintaining inventory accuracy through daily cycle counts, inventory audits, and reconciliation of inventory discrepancies. This position works closely with Warehouse, Planning, Production, and Logistics teams to ensure inventory records accurately reflect physical inventory levels, supporting efficient operations and production schedules. The Cycle Counter is highly detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working with inventory management systems while maintaining accurate records and reporting inventory variances.


Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

· Perform daily cycle counts of raw materials, finished goods, components, packaging materials, and other inventory items.

· Verify physical inventory quantities against system records and investigate discrepancies.

· Research inventory variances and identify root causes such as transaction errors, receiving issues, shipping discrepancies, production reporting errors, or material handling concerns.

· Process inventory adjustments in accordance with company procedures and authorization requirements.

· Maintain accurate inventory records within ERP, WMS, or inventory management systems.

· Conduct location audits to ensure materials are stored in the correct warehouse locations.

· Support monthly, quarterly, and annual inventory audits and physical inventories.

· Collaborate with Warehouse, Planning, Production, and Purchasing teams to resolve inventory issues.

· Monitor inventory transactions to ensure proper documentation and system accuracy.

· Assist in establishing and maintaining inventory control procedures and best practices.

· Generate inventory reports and communicate findings to management.

· Perform other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

· Minimum 1-2 years of inventory control, cycle counting, warehouse, logistics, or related experience preferred.

· Experience working with ERP, WMS, or inventory management systems preferred.

· Basic understanding of inventory control principles and warehouse operations.

· Ability to analyze inventory discrepancies and identify root causes.

· Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and basic computer applications.

· Strong organizational and time-management skills.

· Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.

· Ability to maintain confidential inventory and company information.

· Basic mathematical and data entry skills.


Physical Demands and Work Environment

Frequent walking, standing, bending, reaching, and stooping.

Ability to lift up to 35-50 pounds occasionally.

This role is located in a warehouse/manufacturing environment
