Walter USA LLC has an opening for a Project Engineer in Greer, South Carolina.

Key Performance Areas:

• Create complete cutting tool product solutions to process customer components and manage projects to successful completion.
• Serve as the main contact between Walter production units, engineering, and sales departments to ensure cutting tools and projects are delivered correctly and on time.
• Collect the necessary information needed to generate accurate and timely quotes for cutting tool product development.
• Analyze customer needs to ensure that requested cutting tool(s) are within Walter engineering and manufacturing capability and can be produced profitably.
• Present quotes and concept drawings to customers to ensure customer understanding of the cutting tool product. 
• Collect and analyze quote dispositions to determine accurate data for reasons for order displacement or customer rejection. Assist other Project Engineers when needed in the completion of quotes.
• Develop engineered, cutting tool design concepts to meet customer needs, working in conjunction with sales personnel. Generate quotes and prints for tools to include necessary customer specifications such as feeds and speeds, machining times, and projected cost savings.
• Monitor the manufacturing of the special cutting tools by acting as liaison between engineering and manufacturing to ensure the product meets customer tooling needs and delivery deadlines.
• Provide engineering support at initial start-up of manufacturing and during production.
• Facilitate the problem-solving process when needed for modifications of cutting tool products during production. 
• Follow-up on proposed modifications of existing tools.
• Complete documentation of the data generated throughout the tool testing process of special cutting tool design and manufacturing projects including cutting criteria, feeds and speeds and machining times.
• Provide engineering support to special projects including evaluation of the success or failure of the project and appropriate allocation of projects to the financial accounts.

Your profile:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering
• Three (3) years of experience as Application Engineer or Project Engineer.
• The three (3) years of experience must have included the design of cutting tool products, including 3D offer drawings and models, preparation of drawings for customer approval and the development of optimal machining process. The three (3) years of experience must also have included preparing cutting tool project quotations and the use of NX and Veros.
• 10% domestic and 10% international travel required.
