NMC Cat is hiring a Power Generation Technician (Field Service) to support customers in Omaha Nebraska. 

If you have experience working on generators, diesel engines, electrical systems, industrial equipment, HVAC controls, military equipment, or related mechanical and electrical systems, we'd like to hear from you. Experience with Caterpillar generators is not required. We provide training and development opportunities to help you build a long-term career.

What You'll Do

As a Power Generation Technician, you'll perform maintenance, diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs on generator and power generation equipment at customer locations.

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Perform preventative maintenance on generators and power systems
  • Diagnose and repair diesel engines, electrical systems, controls, and related components
  • Troubleshoot generator performance issues and equipment failures
  • Complete inspections and identify recommended repairs
  • Use service manuals, diagnostic software, and technical resources to support repairs
  • Order parts and complete service documentation
  • Communicate findings and recommendations with customers and internal teams
  • Work safely and independently in a field service environment
  • Collaborate with technical support resources on complex issues

 

What We're Looking For

  • Experience troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, diesel, or industrial equipment
  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to read technical information and follow repair procedures
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage field service assignments
