Job DetailsJob Location: Gridley, IL - Gridley, IL 61744Position Type: Full TimeSalary Range: $30.00 - $35.00 HourlyJob Summary We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Final Packaging Supervisor to oversee the packaging operations in our facility. This role is responsible for ensuring that all products are packaged accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with company quality standards and safety regulations. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and a focus on continuous improvement.    Key Responsibilities  Supervision and Leadership:  Manage daily operations of the final packaging department, ensuring timely completion of production schedules.  Lead, coach, and motivate a team of packaging operators to achieve performance goals.  Conduct regular team meetings to communicate goals, updates, and safety practices.  Quality Assurance:  Ensure all packaged products meet quality standards and customer specifications.  Monitor the packaging process to identify and address any defects or inconsistencies.  Collaborate with quality assurance teams to implement corrective actions when needed.  Operational Efficiency:  Optimize packaging workflows to maximize productivity and minimize downtime.  Monitor equipment performance and coordinate maintenance or repairs as needed.  Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs) such as output, waste, and efficiency.  Compliance and Safety:  Enforce company policies, safety standards, and regulatory compliance (e.g., OSHA, GMP).  Conduct regular safety audits and ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).  Train employees on safe and effective packaging practices.  Inventory and Materials Management:  Ensure adequate inventory of packaging materials to support production schedules.  Minimize waste and track material usage to maintain cost efficiency.  Coordinate with the supply chain team to prevent material shortages or overstocking.  Skills and Qualifications Familiarity with packaging machinery and equipment.  Familiar with baggers, case packers, gluers, tapers, and code daters.  Familiar with metal detectors, Xrays, quality checks, and packaging checks.  Familiar with stretch wrappers and label printers.  Familiar with inventory systems for finished goods.  Familiar with various pieces of palletizing equipment.  Able to operate a forklift a plus.  Proficiency in basic computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office, ERP systems).  Strong leadership and team-building abilities.  Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.  Effective communication and interpersonal skills.  High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in operations management, industrial engineering, or a related field is preferred.   3+years of experience in manufacturing packaging environment, with supervisory experience a plus Benefits:  PPO or HSA medical benefits with Employer Contributions.
