The SGA DEI Chair shall serve as the liaison between SGA, multicultural organizations, the Multicultural Leadership Council, and the Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. The SGA DEI Chair shall serve as a resource for the SGA president, Vice Presidents and other cabinet members on all matters related to diversity, equity, and inclusion. The SGA DEI Chair shall participate in various college and student-led boards & committees including but not limited to the
Committee on Diversity & Inclusion (CDI), the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Senior Leadership Committee (DEISL), and the Student
Curriculum Committee (SCC) as a non-voting member.  
The SGA DEI Chair shall meet at least biweekly with the Assistant Chief Diversity Officer for Intercultural Student Life. The SGA DEI Chair shall make an agenda for and facilitate all Multicultural Leadership Council meetings alongside Assistant Chief Diversity Officer for Intercultural Student Life as a representative of
SGA.
The SGA DEI Chair shall meet regularly with student leadership of multicultural groups to discuss needs and concerns of each respective organization. The SGA DEI Chair shall produce an end of semester report published to the student body on the work they have conducted throughout the course of the semester.

Meeting requirements:
1. Attend all Cabinet meetings every first and third Tuesday of the month at 7:00 pm when classes are in session and excluding finals.
2. Attend all Senate meetings, held the second and fourth Tuesday of every month at 8:00 pm while classes are in session and excluding finals.
3. Attend Training at 4:15 on Tuesday afternoons.

Preferred Qualifications:

Prior experience in roles related to belonging and inclusivity 

Prior experience working with underrepresented populations

 

Eligibility Requirements:
Any full time Grinnell College student shall be eligible for any paid
or unpaid SGA position, provided that they meet all of the following
expectations at the time of assuming office and for the duration of
their term of office:
1. Must be in good academic standing.
2. Must be in good conduct standing.
3. Must be in attendance in person on the Grinnell College campus.
4. Must not hold a leadership position with any other Grinnell College student-led entity.
