The Oversights, Ethics & Elections Committee (OEEC) administers all campus-wide SGA elections, referendums, votes and initiatives and makes
specific rules concerning election procedures. The OEEC is also responsible for, on request from a student, reviewing and rendering a decision on the constitutionality of by-law changes, actions by Senators, Cabinet or Executive members, as well as any other student government initiatives and actions.
The OEEC Chair, in conjunction with the SGA Faculty Advisor, organizes all aspects of the committee. The committee meets as needed. The OEEC Chair is a hired position and may expect to work between 5 and 20 hours per week.

Responsibilities:
Convene and preside over the OEEC and actively co-lead all meetings in conjunction with the SGA faculty advisor as necessary
Organize all aspects of the committee
Create necessary campaign regulations and publicize
Facilitate all hearings regarding elections, grievances, and SGA actions

Scheduling OEEC meetings as necessary
Managing the OEEC budget and working with the SGA Treasurer to approve any necessary expenditures for the OEEC

 

Meeting requirements:
1. Attend all Cabinet meetings every first and third Tuesday of the
month at 7:00 pm when classes are in session and excluding finals.
2. Attend all Senate meetings, held the fourth Tuesday of every month
at 8:00 pm while classes are in session and excluding finals.
3. Attend all meetings of the OEEC.
4. Attend regular training on Tuesdays at 4:15.

Qualifications

Eligibility Requirements:
Any full time Grinnell College student shall be eligible for any paid or unpaid SGA position, provided that they meet all of the following expectations at the time of assuming office and for the duration of their term of office:
1. Must be in good academic standing.
2. Must be in good conduct standing.
3. Must be in attendance in person on the Grinnell College campus.
4. Must not hold a leadership position with any other Grinnell College student-led entity.
5. Must not run for any elected position concurrently with employment as OEEC Chair.
