At Doncasters we have an exciting opportunity for a CMM Operator to join our team in Groton, CT.  

 

The working hours/salary for this role are second or third shift, $21.44 per hour. Second shift hours are 2:00pm-10:30pm, third shift hours are 10:00pm-6:30am.

The Role

The CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) Operator is responsible for performing precision dimensional inspections on aerospace castings and machined components using Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) and conventional inspection equipment. This role ensures products meet engineering drawings, GD&T requirements, customer specifications, and internal quality standards. The CMM Operator works closely with Quality, Engineering, and Production to maintain product conformity and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

Proven experience using Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) and ideally experience in blueprint interpretation and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing of metallic materials.

We are keen to hear from candidates who have excellent understanding of data sheets, shop math and be able to solve right angle trigonometric problems and those who are proficient in exporting data to Excel for statistical evaluation.
