Overview
This position is responsible for performing payroll and labor related financial functions. The ability to work in a fast paced, deadline driven environment, while maintaining a strong attention to detail and accuracy is a must. This position will require interaction with all employee and management levels as well as frequent interaction with Human Resources, various agencies, and third-party providers.
Some, but not all, specific tasks to be performed are as follows:
- Analyze labor to payroll activity to identify and resolve variances
- Assist in weekly labor closing activities
- Provide audit support through interaction with government and commercial audit agencies
- Assist with internal audits conducted by Electric Boat
- Perform quality checks to ensure accurate processing and adherence to company policy
- Interact with all levels of management to resolve any policy divergences
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor of Science degree in accounting
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Reporting and data analysis experience
- Some weekend and overtime hours to support weekly processing deadlines
Preferred:
- 2+ years of Timekeeping and/or Payroll processing experience
- Experience working with mainframe based financial systems
- PeopleSoft experience
- Prior experience working with multiple pay groups / collective bargaining units
- Microsoft Office Suite
