We are always seeking individuals with a strong work ethic who are willing to support the best team in the business.  The Marine Ship Store Manager is responsible for overseeing all ship store operations, including inventory management, purchasing, merchandising, sales, and customer service. This role ensures the availability of parts, supplies, and retail merchandise necessary to support vessel operations and customer needs. The ideal candidate possesses strong inventory management skills, a customer-focused mindset, and a solid mechanical background with the ability to understand marine, automotive, diesel, or related mechanical systems and components.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Inventory Management & Purchasing

  • Manage inventory levels to ensure parts, supplies, and merchandise are available to support vessel operations and customer demand.
  • Order, receive, stock, and maintain inventory using established purchasing procedures.
  • Conduct cycle counts and inventory audits to ensure accuracy.
  • Monitor inventory trends and adjust stock levels to optimize availability while controlling costs.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers.
  • Research and source replacement parts, equipment, and supplies as needed 

Store Operations

  • Oversee daily ship store operations, including merchandising, stocking, pricing, and organization.
  • Ensure the store is clean, organized, and professionally maintained.
  • Monitor sales performance and identify opportunities to improve product offerings.
  • Maintain accurate records of purchases, inventory transactions, and sales.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and operational procedures.

Customer Service

  • Provide exceptional service to vessel crews, customers, and visitors.
  • Assist customers in identifying the correct parts, supplies, and equipment for their needs.
  • Resolve customer concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  • Promote products and support store sales initiatives.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of marine, automotive, diesel, heavy equipment, or similar mechanical systems.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in parts management, inventory control, purchasing, or related operations.
  • Experience identifying, sourcing, and managing parts and equipment inventories.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills.
  • Proficiency with inventory management systems, point-of-sale software, and Microsoft      Office applications.
  • Ability to  prioritize multiple responsibilities and work independently.
