Installation of various vehicle interior/exterior parts according to specifications and using hand tools, power tools, and production fixtures.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

           

  • Installation of all nonelectrical interior/exterior components and hardware.
  • Bolts, screws, clips, or otherwise fastens together parts to form subassemblies, such as doors, seats, instrument control panels, steering columns, and axle units.
  • Seals joints and seams, using caulking gun.
  • Fastens seats, door paneling, headliners, carpeting, molding, and other trim into position.
  • Assembles fabricated parts, components, or units at floor stations.
  • Positions parts and subassemblies by using templates or reading measurements.
  • Uses hand tools and power tools to assemble units according to product specifications.

Requirements (education, experience, travel, physical, work environment):

 

  • Ability to read and use linear and other measuring devices.
  • Ability to perform all operations within acceptable quality and time standards.
  • Fundamental use of various pneumatic and power tools such as: to drills, screw gun.
  • Must have general knowledge of OSHA and EPA standards.
  • Function with a minimal amount of supervision or no supervision.
  • Set work priorities to meet production goals as scheduled.

  • Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 40#’s without assistance.
  • Ability to work from various squatting, kneeling or bending positions.
  • Ability to work with arms above head.
  • Ability to work from ladders or scaffolding.
  • Ability to stand at a workstation for ten hours a day (minus specified breaks.)
  • Ability to perform all operations within acceptable quality and time standards.
  • Ability to safely use specified hand, air, power tools, and machinery.
  • Ability to operate and understand the operation of all protective safety equipment in the area.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision and depth perception.
  • Ability to handle and dispose of hazardous waste.
  • Ability to work in noisy and dusty conditions.

  • Ability to work with arms above head.
  • Able to read and follow written and verbal instructions.

 

The noise level in the work environment is elevated.

 

Experience:

 

  • One year experience in a related manufacturing environment preferred
