The Wellstar Diagnostic Float Team (WEST Team) supports a variety of imaging services across our facilities. Region Four includes Columbia County Medical Center & MCG Health Medical Center.Â

As a Radiologic Technologist for Region Four, you will apply your expertise to deliver safe, high-quality imaging and a supportive patient experience at each location you serve. If you prefer a role that avoids routine, lets you use your full skill set, and provides straightforward pay, this could be a strong fit.Â

In return for stepping in where you’re needed most, Float Pool members earn a higher base rate and may be eligible for a float incentive.Â

Multiple shift options available to self-schedule up to 8 weeks in advanceÂ
Monthly schedule includes 2 Monday shifts, 2 Friday shifts, and 3 weekend shifts (Sat/Sun)Â

Required Qualifications:Â
EducationÂ
High School Diploma or equivalentÂ
Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology programÂ
ExperienceÂ
Minimum 2 years of experience as a Radiologic Technologist in a hospital settingÂ
CertificationsÂ
ARRT-R (Radiography)Â
BLS (Basic Life Support) – American Heart AssociationÂ
Â
Core Responsibilities:Â
Operate imaging/radiographic equipment safely and competently, adjusting technique to maintain diagnostic quality at the lowest reasonable dose (ALARA).Â
Clean, disinfect, and maintain rooms/equipment per infection control schedules; identify and report equipment issues promptly.Â
Obtain clinical history and screen for contraindications; verify orders and two unique patient identifiers before any exam.Â
Explain procedures, prep, and post-care clearly using AIDET; address questions and reduce patient anxiety.Â
Ensure patient comfort, privacy, and safety; provide age-appropriate care throughout the visit.Â
Perform exams and administer contrast per protocol, using venipuncture and sterile technique when applicable.Â
Â
Position patients correctly and apply markers, shielding, and immobilization as indicated.Â
Review images for diagnostic acceptability; repeat/correct as needed and release patients appropriately.Â
Complete accurate, timely documentation and ensure studies are correctly finalized in RIS/PACS (including transfers/retrieval, CDs, and prior exam retrieval as needed).Â
Monitor patient condition, respond to emergencies, and help maintain/restock crash cart and life-support equipment as required.Â
Organize daily workflow to meet expected timeframes; collaborate with technologists/modalities to support department flow.Â
Support operations and compliance, keep areas orderly and stocked, transport patients safely, complete charging/clerical tasks, follow regulatory requirements, and escalate issues to the supervisor.Â
