(2nd Shift - LTFF)

GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION

Under direct supervision, as assigned from either the Supervisor or Group Leader, ensures parts, products and cars are manufactured in a high quality/cost effective manner.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Utilize previous work experience and skills learned to fill in as an Assembler, anywhere in the department, when normally assigned Assemblers are absent or not available. Performs all necessary job requirements during that assignment.
  • Ensure all jobs are set up and necessary tools are available to meet daily manufacturing requirements. Trains and provides cross training for each newly assigned or hired associate/co-associate in the technical requirements of the assigned assembly position/station for both quality and productivity. Training is to include, as a minimum, proper assembly methods, work verification requirements/procedures, TQC requirements/procedures and Kanban maintenance.
  • Ensure Assemblers have the proper tools and gages to perform their assigned tasks.
  • Perform verification of work procedures and retrains Assemblers as required to ensure product specifications are met. Coordinates with Quality Control to obtain initial approval of first/final parts produced. Coordinates with the Supervisor/Group Leader to determine the disposition of questionable scrapped or rejected parts and assemblies.
  • Train Assemblers in policies and procedures related to maintaining the department in a clean, safe, and orderly fashion.
  • Submit work orders and tool repair tickets to Tool and Die and Plant Engineering in a timely manner.
  • Provide input to Supervisor/Group Leader regarding improvement of production issues, tooling, fixtures, and changes in processes and act upon approval, to improve those processes and quality issues.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Rework and repairs vehicles in finished goods inventory or in the red tag area when necessary. Also inventories and installs missing components on vehicles in finished goods inventory when necessary.
  • Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.
  • Must be able to work overtime as necessary.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE JOB

Education:

  • High School Diploma/Equivalent required.

Experience: 

  • A minimum of six months of Club Car Assembler experience or three years of assembly experience.

  • Safety management mindset.
  • Focus on quality control.
  • Dexterity and hand-eye coordination, including the ability to grasp, manipulate, and assemble parts and components that are often very small.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Requires occasional lifting of objects of objects 25 to 50 pounds.
  • Work requires periodic stooping/bending and frequent walking/standing.
  • Work involves activities that require special safety precautions, e.g., working around moving parts, machines, or vehicles.
