Job Summary:

The Radiologic Technologist performs a wide variety of Diagnostic Imaging procedures on patients of all ages to providephysicians with data for diagnostic purposes. This position works under the direction of a Radiologist or Manager.

Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions:

Demonstrates sound knowledge in the performance of Diagnostic Imaging while adhering to departmentprotocol and standards and applies the principles of ALARA to minimize exposure to patients, self andothers.Performs Diagnostic Imaging exams in a variety of settings. Evaluates images for technical quality, performspost processing of data and ensures proper Patient identification is recorded.Provides optimal patient care and assumes responsibility for the patient's needs during their proceduresand exemplifies the philosophy of Patient Family Centered care to all.Applies the principles of patient safety during all aspects of patient care and identifies and responds toemergency situations in an appropriate manner. Strictly adheres to the principles of aseptic technique andhand washing policies.Assists the Radiologist with procedures and protocols.Other duties as assigned.Performs other duties as assignedComplies with all Wellstar Health System policies, standards of work, and code of conduct.

Required Minimum Education:

  • Accredited Program Radiologic Technology

Required Minimum License(s) and Certification(s):

All certifications are required upon hire unless otherwise stated.
  • ARRT-R - ARRT Radiography
  • BLS-I - Basic Life Support - Instructor or BLS - Basic Life Support or ARC-BLS - Amer Red Cross Basic Life Support
