Assistant Scientist

Description

· Receive daily instruction from Helix scientists to perform standard established laboratory procedures

· Work independently to follow standard established laboratory procedures

· Perform experiments under the supervision of Helix scientists

· Enter and record data derived from research experiments 

· Daily lab upkeep including proper care and use of laboratory equipment

· Follow all mandated laboratory safety and quality protocols

Requirements

· Bachelor’s degree in plant science or in an area of biology with some plant science laboratory experience

· Basic knowledge of standard biology laboratory procedures

· Demonstrated ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously

· Must be able to communicate effectively, both verbally and written, in a multi-cultural setting

· Must be self-motivated, reliable, and efficient

· Proficient in basic computer skills (MS Word and Excel) for reporting and database entry.

· A minimum of 2 years laboratory experience through coursework and/or job experience. Industry experience preferred
