Role: Service Coordinator
Salary: £37,300.00 per annum plus £700.00 on call allowance
Location: Guernsey, Channel Islands
Contract/Hours: Permanent - Full Time - 37 hours per week
We would expect a degree of flexibility around working hours to meet the demands of the service and service users, including occasional weekend or early evening work.

A bit about the role
The Guernsey Youth & Housing project offers support to young people, between the ages of 11- 25, Our work focuses on homelessness and the wider issues that cause it including independent living skills, substance use, leaving care, employability and isolation, delivering over 20 dedicated projects supporting young people.
In the role of Service Coordinator, you'll deliver direct support to young people and lead a small team of frontline workers with operational management and supervision to enable the achievement of positive outcomes for children and young people. Specifically, this role will deliver our Employment and Wellbeing support for young people, our volunteer support and our Action Mentoring volunteers.

How you'll help to create brighter futures
In this role, here are some of the things you’ll be responsible and accountable for:
- Providing high quality services to children, young people and their families, based on an assessment of need and outcomes.
- Working closely with senior staff and managers to review and evaluate service provision, ensuring continued improvements are made, driving innovation and business development, in particular for an assigned area of work.
- Participating, chairing, facilitating and leading of relevant multiagency meetings e.g. service planning meetings, home visits and conference meetings, where appropriate.
- Being responsible for the delivery of quality services, including operational and strategic planning and deployment of resources and to work with commissioners and other external bodies.
- Nurturing, developing and promoting effective relationships and channels of communication with colleagues, community organisations, partner agencies and other external agencies.
- Providing direct and overall line management of staff, applying appropriate policies and procedures, also sharing knowledge and experience through coaching and mentoring techniques.
- Ensuring case work standards are adhered to from referral through to closure of cases, using appropriate IT systems.
- Producing and presenting analytical and written reports, using data and other sources to improve performance and service delivery.
Let's talk about you
In the role of our Service Coordinator, we're ideally looking for someone who has:
- Significant post qualification experience of working with children, young people and or families in a multi-agency environment and achieving positive outcomes through intervention.
- Delivery of service user needs assessment, ensuring accurate and update retention of information
- Advanced experience of chairing, supporting and contributing to service planning meetings.
- Producing clear, concise written reports capturing and progressing the salient issues to action.
- Competent in the use of Microsoft outlook packages i.e. word, email etc.
- To prioritise workload, including staff to achieve and deliver within agreed timescales.
- To manage and develop subordinate staff or a team
