Description

ENT / Otolaryngology — Gunnison Valley Hospital, Utah / Loan Repayment & Rural Incentive Opportunities

Gunnison Valley Hospital (GVH) is seeking a mission-driven Otolaryngologist to join our growing medical staff and serve patients across Central Utah. This role offers a rare combination of clinical variety, autonomy, and impact in a community hospital committed to keeping care close to home.

As an ENT at GVH, you will practice a full spectrum of outpatient and procedural ENT care with the ability to shape and grow the service line. Physicians enjoy strong support from primary care, surgical services, anesthesia, and engaged administration focused on long-term retention and sustainable practice models.

GVH is a rural Critical Access Hospital known for high-quality care, positive culture, and commitment to patient-centered service. Providers benefit from a supportive clinical environment, manageable volumes, and flexibility to balance work/life in a community that values health, family, and outdoor living.

Loan Repayment & Rural Incentive Opportunities

GVH is eligible for multiple loan repayment pathways that reward service in rural Utah and help reduce the financial burden of medical education:

• Utah Rural Physician Loan Repayment Program
• Utah Health Care Workforce Program
• Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program (PSLF)

These programs offer financial incentives for rural clinical practice, including educational loan repayment and multi-year service commitments. GVH supports physicians in navigating and applying for these programs.

Utah Retirement System (URS Pension)

A Competitive Advantage for Physicians

GVH is a participating employer in the Utah Retirement System (URS), a defined-benefit pension that offers long-term retirement stability — an increasingly rare benefit in healthcare.

Why URS Matters for Physicians

• Predictable, formula-based retirement benefits
• Rewards physician retention and career longevity
• Pension benefits are increasingly uncommon in healthcare, making URS a highly competitive element of physician compensation

In an era where many systems have transitioned away from pension-based models, URS differentiates GVH as a forward-thinking committed to long-term financial stability for physicians.

What Sets GVH Apart
• Clinical autonomy with supportive leadership
• Efficient OR & procedure scheduling
• Balanced outpatient volumes
• Collaborative primary care & surgical teams
• Modern facilities & growing service lines
• Opportunity to design an ENT program that fits your practice style
