Job DetailsJob Location: UT - Gunnison, UT 84634Financial Controller  Position Summary  The Financial Controller is responsible for overseeing all accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash management, cost accounting, and internal control functions of Christensen Arms. This position serves as a key member of the finance leadership team and provides financial analysis and strategic support to executive management. The Controller ensures the integrity of financial information, maintains compliance with regulatory requirements, supports operational decision-making, and drives continuous improvement of financial processes and systems.  Essential Duties and Responsibilities  Financial Reporting & Accounting  Direct and oversee all general accounting functions including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll accounting, fixed assets, inventory accounting, and month-end close.  Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.  Develop and maintain financial reporting packages for management, lenders, investors, and board members.  Perform account reconciliations and ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial records.  Maintain accounting policies and procedures in accordance with U.S. GAAP.  Coordinate annual financial statement audits and support external auditors.  Budgeting, Forecasting & Financial Planning  Lead the annual budgeting process and periodic forecast updates.  Prepare and maintain rolling cash flow forecasts, including 13-week cash flow projections.  Analyze operating results, identify variances, and provide recommendations to management.  Develop financial models to support strategic initiatives and operational decision-making.  Monitor key performance indicators and provide financial insights to department leaders.  Cash Management & Treasury  Manage daily cash flow requirements and liquidity planning.  Coordinate borrowing activity and reporting requirements with lenders.  Monitor working capital performance, including accounts receivable, inventory, and accounts payable.  Support cash collection efforts and evaluate customer credit risk.  Prepare borrowing base certificates and lender reporting packages as required.  Cost Accounting & Inventory Management  Maintain and improve product costing methodologies.  Analyze material, labor, overhead, and burden costs to ensure accurate inventory valuation and cost of goods sold reporting.  Develop and maintain burden rates and overhead allocation methodologies.  Support inventory cycle counts and annual physical inventory processes.  Analyze inventory reserves, obsolescence, slow-moving inventory, and inventory valuation adjustments.  Partner with operations to identify cost reduction opportunities and manufacturing efficiencies.  Internal Controls & Compliance  Establish and maintain effective internal controls over financial reporting and company assets.  Ensure compliance with company policies, lender agreements, tax regulations, and other financial requirements.  Coordinate sales tax, excise tax, property tax, and other regulatory filings.  Support compliance with federal firearms industry financial reporting requirements.  Develop and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and documentation.  Systems & Process Improvement  Serve as finance lead for ERP systems, business intelligence reporting, and financial data management.  Develop and maintain financial dashboards, KPIs, and reporting tools.  Identify opportunities to automate accounting and financial processes.  Support ERP implementations, upgrades, and system integrations.  Collaborate with IT and operational departments to improve data accuracy and reporting capabilities.  Leadership & Cross-Functional Support  Supervise accounting personnel and provide leadership, training, and professional development.  Partner with sales, operations, manufacturing, supply chain, and executive leadership teams to support business objectives.  Provide financial analysis and recommendations for capital expenditures, pricing, inventory investments, and strategic initiatives.  Support due diligence, financing activities, and other special projects as assigned.  Qualifications  Education  Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.  CPA, CMA, MBA, or equivalent professional certification preferred.  Experience  7+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience.  Manufacturing industry experience required.  Cost accounting and inventory management experience required.  Experience managing audits, financial reporting, and budgeting processes.  ERP system experience required; manufacturing ERP experience preferred.  Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities  Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting requirements.  Advanced financial modeling and analytical skills.  Strong knowledge of manufacturing cost accounting and inventory valuation.  Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.  Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting systems.  Ability to communicate financial information effectively to both financial and non-financial stakeholders.  Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.  Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.  Reporting Structure  Reports To:  Chief Financial Officer / Vice President of Finance  Direct Reports:  Staff Accountant  Accounts Payable / Accounts Receivable Personnel  Other finance and accounting personnel as assigned  Qualifications
