Job Title: Assistant Security Manager
General Definition: Responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for
guests and team members as well as protecting GMC property through the supervision of assigned security staff.

Essential Job Functions:
ï‚· Monitor and ensure the safety of guests, team members and tribal assets through constant patrol, supervision, and observation of all assigned areas and reporting activities in accordance with departmental guidelines.ï€
ï‚· Monitor and maintain control of facility access points and permitted areas of entry and respond to sounding alarms ensuring the safety of guests, team members and tribal assets.ï€
ï‚· Assist other departments when emergency conditions threaten or actually exist (fire, weather, medical, etc.) to assure the facility is protected.ï€
ï‚· Maintain guest and team member confidence and safeguard the operations by maintaining confidentiality of all information obtained in performance of duties.ï€
ï‚· Resolve guest and team member complaints by listening and answering questions as needed.ï€
ï‚· Interpret and enforce established guidelines in conjunction with operations in order to protect the assets of GMC.ï€
ï‚· Assist in the development of the security staff by coaching, counseling, and disciplining security personnel to ensure staff is competent and professional in their assigned duties.ï€
ï‚· Review security reports for completion and accuracy.ï€
ï‚· Assist and/or create/review schedules of all assigned security personnel in order to guarantee coverage and encourage stability in the workforce.ï€
ï‚· Assist in on-boarding security staff by interviewing and selecting security personnel to assure positions are filled by the most qualified applicants.ï€
ï‚· All other duties as assigned.ï€
Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
ï‚· High School Diploma or GED equivalentï€
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
ï‚· Must be able to assist Security Officers in day to day operations based on facility needsï€
ï‚· Must be able to work various hours as needed, including weekends and holidaysï€
ï‚· Must be able to read, understand, apply, and retain knowledge of departmental rules, regulations, and policiesï€
ï‚· Must be able to operate a hand-held radio and must be able to learn security radio codesï€
ï‚· Must be able to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of timeï€
ï‚· May be required to lift/carry up to 50 lbs. based on facility needsï€
ï‚· Must be able to understand and apply oral or written instructionsï€
ï‚· Must be able to prepare hand written, legible reports and type written reports in a clear concise manner based upon facility needsï€
ï‚· Must be able to define problems, collect data, and establish factsï€
ï‚· Must have excellent communication skills and be able to work successfully in a team environmentï€
ï‚· Must have basic computer and typewriting skills, to include basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suiteï€
ï‚· Must be able to sit at a desk/computer for at least one (1) continuous hour at a timeï€
ï‚· Must be 21 years of age to carry firearm and/or taser; may be required to carry firearm and/or taserï€
ï‚· Must be able to work in fast paced, noisy, smoke filled casino environmentï€
Training and Experience:
ï‚· 2 years’ previous security experience in a gaming facility requiredï€
ï‚· Law enforcement and or military is a plusï€
ï‚· 1+ year of management and or supervisory experience in the field of security is preferredï€
ï‚· Knowledge of the gaming industry is also a plusï€
Licenses/Certifications/Other:
ï‚· Must pass an MMPI test
ï‚· Must become TASER certified and required to carry as outlined in departmental guidelines, training provided
ï‚· Must be able to pass a background check and receive/maintain a license or permit from the Shawnee Tribe Gaming Commission
ï‚· Must be able to complete pre-employment drug test with a negative result
