CV, Inc. is a Civil Engineering company that provides Survey, Maintenance of traffic, and Subsurface Utility
Engineering, for multiple MD/VA/DC/DE Utility providers, as well as County and State organizations.
We are currently looking for an experienced Utility Designator (Locator) / SUE Technician to work in our SUE
Services Division.
Experience with (ASCE 38-22 Quality Level A, B, C, D) Utility Designation, Test Holes, and Maintenance of Traffic, in either the Maryland, DC, Virginia, or Delaware regions is required.
Responsibilities:
- Utilize multiple types of utility locating equipment (Radio Detection, Metrotech, GPR, etc.)
- Perform all aspects of Utility Test Hole operations (QL-A)
- Accurately and Precisely Designate (Locate) all types of Utilities (QL-B)
- Possess the ability and understanding to support all other SUE levels as needed (QL - C and D)
- Draw and develop utility sketches, Field reports, and document information as needed.
- Read, understand, and interpret the following, (digital utility data, civil drawings, utility plans, as-builts,
- blueprints, and utility records.)
- Perform work on “out of town” projects as requested for up to, but not limited to, one-week intervals.
- Use multiple MS Office Products and communicate using email.
- Physically capable of maneuvering manholes, valve boxes, underground vaults, etc.
- Work directly with Surveyors during daily operations.
- Follow all safety procedures and protocols.
- Perform Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) as needed on most projects.
- Operate a motor vehicle as needed in a safe and responsible manner.
- Properly maintain company vehicle and perform inspections as required.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the SUE industry. (Preferable knowledge of Utility designation, Utility
- Test hole operations, basic Survey, Pavement Cores, MOT deployment etc.)
- Knowledge of Electromagnetic induction detection equipment and operating procedures.
- Possess very good interpersonal skills, effective written, and oral communication skills.
- Attendance, punctuality, and reliability are essential requirements.
- Must be a minimum of 21 years old.
- Valid driver's license with insurable record required.
- Lift and manipulate up to 100 pounds.
- Complete a physical and be willing and able to work in all-weather environments.
- Ability to work cooperatively in team environment.
- Basic computer/technical skills.
