Rehab Tech responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Collaboration of operations with nursing team and therapy team to ensure timely transportation of patients to and from therapy.
  • Maintains smooth departmental operations by providing clerical and gym organizational support. Assisting with patient treatment only under the approved supervisory rules and regulations pertaining to each discipline.
  • Maintains wheelchair and equipment distribution inventory.
  • Supervises therapeutic dining.
  • Emphasis on customer service developing a rapport and mutual respect with the patient/caregiver, as well as team members, to foster an optimum environment in support of goal achievement.
  • Participation in program development committees for professional and program quality growth.
  • Other duties and/or projects as assigned.
  • Ensuring the resident care policies and procedures are followed in compliance with applicable quality of care standards.
  • Assisting clinical rehabilitation staff with the preparation of treatment area, customer transport (ambulatory or wheelchair) to and from the Rehab department. Assisting with patient treatment only under the approved supervisory rules and regulations pertaining to each discipline.
  • Maintaining the cleaning, maintenance, and inventory of all Rehab equipment.
  • Scheduling rehabilitation appointments.
  • Consistently and appropriately responding to the needs and concerns of residents, families, and visitors in a pleasant, respectful, and courteous manner.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • CNA or CHHA background preferred
  • CPR certification preferred
  • Previous experience in a similar role preferred.
  • Proficiency in electronic medical record (EMR) software, such as NetHealth preferred
  • Advanced ability to manage patient mobility and transportation needs
  • Ability to maintain a clean, tidy, and safe environment in line with regulations
  • Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills, as well as a caring nature
