Summary:
Astrodyne TDI is looking for hands-on individuals who enjoy rolling up their sleeves and working with a multidisciplinary team on the development of innovative products.
Position requires an independent individual to work directly with the Director of Research and Development to design new products. Assist in a dynamic, creative role to solve complex mechanical engineering problems and system integration problems. The candidate will also collaboratively create concepts for RFQ proposals.
Realize the technology goals of road map products set by the CTO and Director of R&D.
What You Will Do:
- Creative problem solving
- Advance package techniques
- Thermal Analysis and modeling
- Prototyping and validation
- DFM techniques and best practices
- Finite Element Method (FEM)
- Mechanical lead on design of Switching Mode Power Supplies as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Design for Manufacturability
- Participate in design reviews
- Generate high quality and complete engineering drawings complying with the industry standards
- Support other mechanical designers/engineers when necessary
- Provide regular progress reports to department and program managers
- Coordinate with all relevant internal departments for on-time project completion
Qualifications:
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- 5+ years of experience
- Proficient with CAD software packages (ProE/Creo preferred, 2D CAD software experience a +)
- Experience in material selection and manufacturing processes.
- Strong communication skills
- Experience in sheet metal fabrication
- Experience with machine parts
- 3D printing
Salary Range: $110,000-$135,000
