Job Overview:

You will be responsible for managing supplier quality as it relates to daily production.  This includes the investigation of suspect material, ensuring the proper processing of rejected material, including the administration of SCAR (Supplier Corrective Action Request), RMA’s, Scrap, etc.  This position will also be responsible for overseeing any Quality Technicians that may report up.

 

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Act as the specific subject matter expert (SME) and owner of the documented process.
  • Identify opportunities to improve accuracy and the overall process.
  • Work closely with the operations manager to identify, report and solve problems.
  • Optimize and organize reject quarantine area based on point of use and volume.
  • Drive “Plan for Every Part” transformation and mentality as it relates to suspect material and it’s proper handling.
  • Communicate clear instructions to team members.
  • Train team members in accordance with company guidelines on assembly procedures.
  • Create and maintain hourly/daily/weekly/monthly metrics and report daily on the same.

 

Education and Experience

  • 3 years of relevant work experience in quality engineering and/or leadership; bachelor’s degree preferred.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization
  • Proven ability to drive cohesion and collaboration among many different people & functions
  • Confidence, presence, and credibility to command the respect of colleagues and senior stakeholders, especially within operational departments
  • Adaptable / Flexible - being open to change in response to new information, different or unexpected circumstances
  • Organizational skills, with ability to manage competing priorities
  • Strong Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word and MRP system

 

Physical Requirements

  • Capable of wearing task specific personal protective equipment which may include dust mask, air purifying respirator (i.e., half and/or full faced), safety shoes, gloves, safety glasses, and ear protection.
  • Capable of meeting OSHA standards for manual lifting guidelines: < 50lbs
  • While performing the duties of this job it is required to stand, walk, and use hands to operate objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands or arms; climb, balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch when necessary for job activity.
  • Ability to stand and/or walk for extended periods.
  • The ability to work in a variety of weather conditions and temperatures.

 

Location:

This role will be located onsite at our Hagerstown, IN facility.
