Responsibilities
- Drive the project lifecycle from concept and requirements definition through design, modification, certification, and final delivery.
- Lead multidisciplinary engineering teams (Structures, Systems, Avionics, etc.), providing technical oversight to ensure designs meet all requirements.
- Manage project scope, schedule, and budget, utilizing project management best practices to track progress and report status to leadership.
- Serve as the primary technical point of contact for the customer, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
- Proactively identify and mitigate technical and programmatic risks throughout the aircraft modification and integration process.
- Oversee the development of all technical documentation and data required to achieve airworthiness certification (e.g., FAA STC or Amended TC).
- Coordinate all verification and validation activities, including ground and flight test planning and execution.
Qualifications The Employee Must Have
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, Systems, or related).
- 12+ years of progressive engineering experience in the aerospace and defense industry.
- Proven success leading systems integration projects on complex aerospace platforms, preferably commercial derivative aircraft.
- Expertise in applying systems engineering principles, including requirements decomposition, system architecture, and Verification & Validation (V&V).
- Demonstrated ability to lead and influence multidisciplinary design and development teams.
- Proficiency in project management, including developing and managing schedules, budgets, risk, and resources.
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance.
Qualifications We Prefer
- Experience supporting international aerospace programs, including direct involvement with U.S. Export Controls (ITAR/EAR) and foreign certification authorities.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) or INCOSE (CSEP/ESEP) certification.
- Direct experience with the FAA certification process, specifically Supplemental Type Certificates (STC) or Amended Type Certificates (ATC).
- Experience as a designated Integrated Product Team (IPT) Lead or Chief Engineer.
- Proficiency with Earned Value Management (EVM) principles and reporting.
- Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools and methodologies.
- Familiarity with airworthiness standards for both military (e.g., MIL-HDBK-516) and civil aviation.
- Experience in software development lifecycle, cybersecurity implementation, or open systems architecture.

Estimated Starting Salary Range: $172,510.67 - $237,202.18. Compensation varies depending on a wide array of factors, such as candidates' key skills, relevant work experience, and education/training/certifications. The disclosed range estimate may be adjusted for any applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled.SNC offers annual incentive pay based upon performance that is commensurate with the level of the position.
