Multisystemic Therapy Therapist

HBS is seeking a Therapist for our New Evidence-Base Intervention Program Multisystemic Therapy (MST). This program serves youth who are at risk of severe system consequences due to serious externalizing, anti-social, and/or delinquent behaviors (e.g., criminal activity, truancy, substance use) and their families. The MST Therapist will have the drive, enthusiasm, knowledge and skills to deliver MST to young people with severe and complex mental health challenges and their families, working as part of a small team. 

MST Therapist will provide individual, family and/or group counseling to a caseload of 5 clients and provide direct service hours as outlined in the contract/MST model. MST Therapists are on call (rotation) 24/7 to provide treatment when and where it is needed and are dedicated to improving youth and family functioning. 

Job Requirements 

  • Deliver clinical services, including assessments, problem conceptualization, planning and treatment, to a small caseload of young people with complex needs, working primarily through their families and caregivers. 

  • Adhere to the MST intervention model, establishing intensive client contact and intervention with individuals and families and working with relevant personnel from other services or agencies. 

  • Conduct assessments of young people and the systems that impact them, including family, peers, school and community, to identify risks and strengths and develop therapeutic interventions. 

  • Identify barriers to pro-social activities and engage family/caregivers and other key participants in change-oriented treatment to resolve or reduce these barriers and achieve lasting behavioral change. 

Qualifications 

  • Master’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling or other mental/behavioral health degree. 

  • Previous work providing in-home or community based mental health services preferred; Experience treating antisocial behavior in youth. 

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule based on families’ availability and able to work an on-call. 

Specific experience in Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Structural Family Therapy, Strategic Family Therapy and behaviorally-based treatments preferred
