The Platform Engineer position helps iterate on the current and future versions of the HHR (Historical Horse Racing) system. This role creates and maintains applications to support casino style games and collaborates with senior team members to design and implement system-wide architecture.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Utilizes strong problem-solving skills to design solutions in a production setting
- Builds gRPC/RESTful APIs leveraged by internal and external resources
- Builds hybrid cloud and on-premises applications to support casino-style gaming
- Writes industry-standard unit tests
- Helps define the frameworks used for building, testing and deploying software
- Works with cross-functional teams to assist with integration
- Assists in application deployments
- Assists with design and product to craft great product experiences
- Participates in peer code reviews and Agile development activities
- Works closely with QA to ensure quality of the product
- Champions for agile development, continue deployment and integration, elegant design, Teamwork
- Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- Degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or equivalent; 5+ years of experience needed in lieu of a degree.
- 3-4 years of experience working in Platform engineering and knowledge of working in a .NET environment or equivalent.
- Experience writing Unit Tests.
- Proven understanding of Git.
- Proven understanding of object-oriented and functional design patterns
- Experience in micro service development and architecture design.
- Good debugging and strong problem-solving skills both individually and as part of a team.
- Passion for learning new technologies and mentoring others on those technologies.
- Excellent communication, and interaction skills; collaborating in a team environment and with internal/external stakeholders
- Preferred Experience and/or Education: Proven understanding of microservice architecture; Experience with casino style games; Experience working with C#, OAS (Swagger/OpenAPI), Docker, Istio, Kubernetes, gRPC/Protobuf, CircleCI; Experience with .NET.

- This position does not have supervisory/management responsibilities
- Requires travel up to 10% including travel outside of local area and within the US
- The successful candidate’s starting compensation will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications and market conditions.Â
- This role is eligible to participate in the Company’s discretionary bonus program where the bonus amount is at the discretion of Executive Leadership and based on business and individual performance.
