Help residents regain strength, mobility, confidence, and greater independence as a Physical Therapist Assistant at Elderwood at Hamburg.

 

We are expanding our rehabilitation team and seeking a compassionate, motivated PTA for a full-time opportunity serving residents in subacute rehabilitation and long-term care. You’ll work closely with Physical Therapists and an interdisciplinary clinical team to deliver individualized treatment and help residents make meaningful progress following illness, injury, surgery, or hospitalization.

What You’ll Experience as a PTA

  • Help residents improve strength, balance, mobility, and functional independence.
  • Work with a diverse resident population across subacute rehabilitation and long-term care.
  • Collaborate with Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Speech-Language Pathologists, nursing, physicians, and other clinical partners.
  • Deliver individualized, resident-centered therapy under the direction of a licensed Physical Therapist.
  • Build meaningful relationships with residents while helping them work toward their rehabilitation goals.
  • Participate in a team environment that values communication, clinical collaboration, and measurable progress.
  • Continue developing professionally through education, mentorship, and interdisciplinary experience.

Qualifications

What We’re Looking for in a Physical Therapist Assistant

  • Graduation from an approved Physical Therapist Assistant program
  • Current, valid New York State license to practice as a Physical Therapist Assistant
  • Current CPR/BLS certification
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English at an intermediate or more advanced level to communicate effectively with residents, families, visitors, coworkers, and supervisors
