This Physician’s Assistant position is a critical component of CT Orthopaedics practice. The responsibilities include management of Orthopaedic patients. This position is responsible for evaluating and diagnosing new and existing patient conditions, pre-op and post-op management and surgical first assist. This position also works very closely with our operations team including the physicians.  Â
Essential Responsibilities:  Â
- Evaluate, diagnose, and treat new and existing patients’ conditions  Â
- Provide medical services and advice for acute and chronic orthopaedic medical conditions  Â
- Provide surgical assistance
- Establish patients’ plan of care  Â
- Manage acute and chronic musculoskeletal medical conditions  Â
- Order diagnostic tests and interpret results of diagnostic tests such as x-rays  Â
- Write or dictate progress or other medical notes on patients’ charts indicating patient status and treatment procedures performed, with each such entry to be signed and dated; ensure that all orders written by PA are followed by PA’s signature and printed name of supervising physician  Â
- Conduct follow-up patient care  Â
- Provide health education to patients and families and participate in community health education  Â
- Supervisor and/or coordinate the activities of patient care and support staff within the clinical setting  Â
- Prescribe medications, including narcotics, controlled substances or class scheduled drugs with Supervising Physician’s documentation in the patient medical record  Â
- Performs other duties as assigned by their supervisorÂ

- Proficient in utilizing Microsoft Office and experience with electronic medical record systems  Â

Experience/Educational requirements: Â
- Licensure requirements of the state of jurisdiction   Â
- Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant Program
- 2-4 years clinical experience required , orthopedic specific experience preferred
