BA Global Talent is seeking a Senior Audit Associate to join a CPA firm based in Hamilton, Ohio, and support audit and assurance engagements for privately held businesses, family-owned companies, nonprofit organizations, and growing companies. You will be responsible for coordinating engagement activities, preparing and reviewing audit documentation, identifying accounting and audit risks, and maintaining strong client relationships. The ideal candidate has solid public accounting experience, strong technical knowledge, and the ability to manage multiple engagements while supporting and mentoring junior team members.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and support audit, review, compilation, and assurance engagements.

  • Plan and coordinate the different phases of client engagements.

  • Prepare and review audit workpapers, financial statements, and supporting documentation.

  • Identify audit risks, accounting issues, internal control concerns, and opportunities for improvement.

  • Communicate clearly and professionally with clients throughout the engagement process.

  • Build trusted, long-term client relationships through responsive and high-quality service.

  • Supervise, mentor, and review the work of staff accountants.

  • Collaborate with managers and partners on engagement strategy, timelines, and client matters.

  • Manage multiple engagements and deadlines while maintaining accuracy and quality.

  • Stay current on auditing standards, accounting guidance, regulatory requirements, and relevant industry developments.

  • Assist with monthly accounting or QuickBooks Online activities when needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.

  • 2-5 years of public accounting audit experience.

  • Experience performing audit, review, compilation, or other assurance engagements.

  • Strong understanding of audit methodology, financial statements, and accounting principles.

  • Ability to independently manage multiple engagements, priorities, and deadlines.

  • Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and professional judgment.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong client service mindset and interest in continued professional growth.

  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.

  • Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively within an engagement team.

Nice to have:

  • Active CPA license or demonstrated progress toward CPA certification.

  • Experience supervising, mentoring, or reviewing the work of staff accountants.

  • Experience supporting privately held companies, family-owned businesses, or nonprofit organizations.

  • Experience with monthly accounting activities or QuickBooks Online.
