Southeastern Louisiana University's Department of TRIO-Student Support Services invites applications for the position of Junior/Senior Student Advisor. Applicants should be a dedicated and student-focused professional with strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills. Experienced in supporting students with academic planning, goal setting, problem-solving, and navigating educational resources. Committed to building positive relationships with students and providing guidance that promotes academic success, personal growth, and retention.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university (preferably in Education, Counseling, Social work, or Psychology)
Two (2) year's work experience
Minimum one (1) year working with students in a postsecondary setting

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Effective interpersonal skills that will allow the applicant to relate to the complex educational and personal needs of low-income, first generation participants and student with disabilities
Applicants whose backgrounds are similar to students served is preferred
Demonstrated ability to work successfully with low income, first generation participants and students with disabilities in postsecondary environments.
Ability to use computer-based technology to complete tasks.
Ability to plan, create, publish and share content on social media.
