Qualifications
- 1+ years of previous scheduling, workforce planning, or administrative experience
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience managing schedules for large employee populations (200+ employees preferred)
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
Position Overview
As the Scheduler, you will play a critical role in supporting plant operations by creating and maintaining weekly schedules for approximately union hourly employees, including maintenance and mill personnel. Working closely with the General Manager, you will ensure schedules are accurately built according to seniority guidelines and operational needs.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a structured environment, enjoys working with data, and has experience coordinating schedules in manufacturing, production, or industrial settings.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain weekly workforce schedules for approximately 220 hourly employees
- Create schedules in accordance with union seniority requirements and workforce availability
- Utilize Microsoft Excel to manage scheduling data and ensure accuracy
- Collaborate closely with the General Manager and operations leadership to support production needs
- Publish and post weekly schedules every Wednesday
- Make scheduling adjustments as needed to accommodate operational requirements
- Communicate scheduling updates clearly and effectively with stakeholders
- Maintain accurate records and scheduling documentation
Work Environment
- Casual dress code (jeans and company polo)
- Office-based position located adjacent to a manufacturing facility
- Collaboration with plant leadership, including the General Manager
- Occasional access to the production floor to post schedules
- PPE (hard hat, steel-toe boots, safety equipment) required when entering manufacturing areas
This is a Permanent position based out of Hammond, IN.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
