Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Quality Management Systems (QMS) Lead to oversee and continuously improve our quality systems within a fast-paced aerospace and defense manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for maintaining compliance with industry standards, including NADCAP, and ensuring that all quality processes meet regulatory, customer, and internal requirements.

The ideal candidate brings a strong background in aerospace or defense manufacturing, deep knowledge of special process controls, and hands-on experience managing audits and quality certifications.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the Quality Management System (QMS) in compliance with NADCAP, AS9100, and other applicable standards

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for NADCAP audits, including preparation, execution, and corrective action management

  • Ensure compliance with customer, regulatory, and internal quality requirements across manufacturing operations

  • Develop and maintain quality documentation including procedures, work instructions, and process flows

  • Drive root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA) using methodologies such as 8D, 5 Whys, and FMEA

  • Partner with engineering, operations, and supply chain teams to ensure quality standards are embedded throughout production processes

  • Monitor and report on key quality metrics, identifying trends and driving continuous improvement initiatives

  • Train and mentor internal teams on QMS processes, audit readiness, and quality best practices

  • Manage internal audit programs and support external audits (customer, regulatory, and certification bodies)

  • Ensure control and compliance of special processes such as heat treating, coatings, welding, or nondestructive testing (NDT), as applicable
