Riverside Medical Group is seeking a full-time physician to join our pioneering Psychiatric Emergency Department (PED) team at the Riverside Mental Health & Recovery Center in Hampton, Virginia

🩺 Your Role Includes:

• Providing acute psychiatric and substance abuse services for adolescents (12–17) and adults
• Leading crisis intervention and short-term stabilization care
• Conducting psychiatric evaluations, comprehensive assessments, and medication management
• Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team including psychiatrists, therapists, nurses, and peer recovery specialists
• Supporting a full continuum of care:
  • Intensive Treatment Program (ITP)
  • Adult Psychiatric Services (APSY)
  • Inpatient Detoxification
  • Dual Diagnosis Services
  • Individual, Family & Group Therapy
  • Recreation & Art Therapy
  • Life Skills Groups
  • Substance Abuse Interventions

🧩 Essential Functions:

• Provide professional guidance to APPs and students in the Emergency Department
• Perform authorized emergency procedures (30% of time)
• Deliver direct patient care as an Emergency Medicine Physician (60% of time)
• Participate in leadership, mentorship, and quality improvement initiatives

🎓 Education & Credentials:

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO)
• Board Certified or Board Eligible
• Virginia Medical License (or eligibility)
• Valid DEA controlled substance registration
• Must meet comprehensive and professional standards
