SAN Group, New England's largest master agency, has a new opportunity for a Portfolio Manager. The successful candidate will be highly organized and detailed oriented. They will be responsible for overseeing network performance, identifying trends, profitability reviews and ensuring the integrity of data within the portfolio. Advanced Excel skills, exceptional attention to detail, and a strong analytical mindset are essential for this position. The position is remote; however the ideal candidate will reside within a commutable distance to Hampton, NH.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive reviews of agency books to assess performance, identify areas of improvement, and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Analyze data related to the property and casualty insurance portfolio to identify trends, opportunities, and potential risks.
  • Verify the integrity of data by conducting thorough checks and audits to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Develop and maintain reports and dashboards to track key performance indicators, trends, and portfolio metrics.
  • Collaborate with strategic partner carriers to gather insights and facilitate decision-making processes.
  • Provide recommendations for portfolio optimization and strategic initiatives based on data analysis and market insights.
  • Act as a knowledgeable resource on property and casualty insurance products, regulations, and industry trends.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of strategies to enhance portfolio profitability and growth.
  • Communicate findings and recommendations effectively to stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Stay updated on industry developments, regulatory changes, and emerging trends to ensure compliance and competitive positioning.

 

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field. Alternatively, 3-4 years of relevant experience in the property and casualty insurance industry.

 

Additional Skills and Attributes

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and draw actionable insights.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
  • Detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to data accuracy and integrity.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Knowledge of property and casualty insurance products, underwriting principles, and regulatory requirements is preferred.
  • Experience with business intelligence tools and data visualization techniques is a plus.
  • Professional certifications such as CPCU (Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter) or ARM (Associate in Risk Management) are desirable but not required.
