Residential Supervisor - Southeastern Family Project

Annual Salary: $63,000 + $5,000 Sign-on Bonus

Monday - Friday, 1 pm to 9 pm

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Services or a related field and registration as a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) with the Virginia Board of Counseling are required.
  • Two (2) years of professional experience providing services to individuals with substance use disorders and/or serious mental illness is required. Previous residential treatment and supervisory experience is preferred.
  • Applicants must obtain registration as a Certified Substance Abuse Counselor Supervisee (CSAC Supervisee) with the Virginia Board of Counseling within thirty (30) days of employment or currently hold an active Certified Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC) credential.

The Hampton-Newport News Community Services Board (HNNCSB) is seeking a Residential Supervisor to support the Southeastern Family Project (SEFP), a residential substance use disorder treatment program serving women, including non-pregnant women, pregnant women, and those who are recently postpartum, along with their infants.

SEFP is a structured residential program aligned with ASAM Levels 3.5 and 3.1, offering comprehensive, gender-specific behavioral health services. The program is designed to provide a safe, therapeutic environment where women can focus on recovery, build life skills, and improve overall health and stability for themselves and their families.

This leadership role will provide staff supervision and program oversight. The selected candidate will have a direct impact on client outcomes, staff performance, and overall program quality, while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinating services, maintaining records, and supporting individuals throughout their involvement in the program.
  • Determine program eligibility and monitor individuals' progress to ensure services are provided appropriately and effectively.
  • Supervise, train, and support residential staff, including assigning work and evaluating performance.
  • Ensure documentation is accurate, complete, timely, and compliant with agency policies and applicable regulations.
  • Respond to urgent situations using sound judgment to help ensure the safety and well-being of individuals and staff.
  • Coordinate services with internal departments, community organizations, healthcare providers, and other external partners as needed.
  • Facilitate educational groups, staff training sessions, and participant activities.
  • Participate in quality improvement efforts, program evaluations, and activities that promote a safe and effective work environment.

Work Environment:

This position operates within a residential treatment setting and involves ongoing interaction with individuals experiencing substance use and mental health challenges. The role may require evenings, weekends, holidays, and occasional on-call responsibilities.
