Job Purpose 

Responsible for overseeing and managing all warehouse operations to ensure optimal efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and alignment with company goals. The role involves strategic planning, improving storage processes, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and leading the warehouse team to maintain smooth operations across multiple locations.

What you will do in your role 

  • Oversee warehouse operations to ensure alignment with production, productivity, quality, and customer service standards.
  • Identify and implement improvements in warehouse systems, focusing on storage processes, inventory management, and system enhancements.
  • Lead the preparation of annual warehouse budgets, monitor expenditures, identify variances, and take corrective actions to ensure budget adherence.
  • Manage daily operations, including creating employee work schedules, controlling absenteeism, overtime, and ensuring efficient team performance.
  • Oversee the movement and storage of raw materials, packaging materials, and finished goods, ensuring accurate stock levels and efficient material flow.
  • Ensure strict adherence to the "First In, First Out" (FIFO) principle for stock management.
  • Optimize warehouse layout and space utilization to maximize storage capacity and operational efficiency.
  • Monitor and resolve issues in the distribution process, ensuring timely departure of all pre-orders and maintaining high service levels.
  • Ensure all workplace health, safety, and regulatory requirements are met in accordance with company and industry standards.
  • Enhance the quality of loading, discharging, and transportation processes to improve overall warehouse performance.
  • Continuously monitor incoming and outgoing stock to ensure accuracy and proper handling procedures.
  • Lead the implementation of best practices in materials handling across all warehouse locations.

Develop plans to improve team performance, including coaching, mentoring, and providing opportunities for skill development.

 

What you will bring to the role  

 

Academic and professional qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management or related field.
    • MBA is preferred  

 

Experience:

  • 10 – 12 years of experience in warehouse or factory management roles with progressive responsibilities
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, supply chain management principles, and warehouse operations best practices.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and leadership skills.
  • Proficiency in warehouse management systems (WMS).
  • Excellent numerical and analytical skills to manage budgets and improve processes
  • Ability to develop and implement strategic plans to optimize warehouse operations and team performance
