Riverside Medical Group is seeking a skilled and compassionate Consult & Liaison Psychiatrist to join our team at Riverside Mental Health and Recovery in Hampton, Virginia.

📍 Riverside Mental Health & Recovery – Hampton, VA
🕒 12-Hour Shifts | 7-On/7-Off Schedule | Remote/Hybrid Potential

🧑‍⚕️ In Your Role

You will provide psychiatric consults for patients in both inpatient and emergency department settings across Riverside’s acute care hospitals. This role includes:

• Conducting in-person consults at Riverside Regional Medical Center
• Providing virtual consults at three additional Riverside hospitals
• Covering 12-hour shifts on a 7-on/7-off schedule
• Participating in after-hours and weekend call coverage
• Optional additional compensation for call coverage at Riverside Mental Health and Recovery Center during your “on” week

🧠 Clinical Responsibilities Include:

• Performing psychiatric assessments and developing treatment plans
• Managing complex psychiatric and medical conditions
• Prescribing pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic interventions
• Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams and attending physicians
• Coordinating specialty referrals and community transfers
• Responding to emergent situations and initiating life-saving interventions
• Educating patients and families on treatment options and care plans
• Advocating patient rights and diverse needs
• Documenting findings and maintaining regulatory compliance
• Demonstrating leadership, mentorship, and evidence-based practice

✅ Qualifications

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO)
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry
• Licensed to practice medicine in Virginia (or eligibility to obtain)
• Valid DEA registration
• Commitment to professional standards and compassionate care
