Job Summary:Ā 

A ā€œhands-onā€ Controls Technician will provide technicalĀ assistanceĀ and support to Operations, and Maintenance. Must have a thorough understanding of all processesĀ utilizedĀ in automated control systems. Requires a strong background in troubleshooting andĀ maintainsĀ industrial equipment at all levels.Ā This technician has sufficient experience and training to also mentor others.Ā 

Duties and Responsibilities:Ā 

  • Become the equipment expert and the primary support for ManufacturingĀ regardingĀ equipment and process issues, including (but not limited to) equipment downtime and production of nonconformingĀ product.Ā 
  • Identify opportunities for technical improvement and become a mentor to the existing Technical Support Team members.Ā Ā Ā Ā  Ā 
  • Provide technicalĀ assistanceĀ with new equipment, process development, setup,Ā debugĀ and training, particularly as it relates to automation and electronic controls.Ā 
  • Must adhere to and ensure that all safety procedures areĀ maintainedĀ in accordance withĀ industry standards (OSHA,Ā NEC,ANSI, IEEE).Ā 
  • Proficient in electrical systems up to 480 VAC.Ā 

RequiredĀ Experience,Ā Education,Ā Skills,Ā andĀ AbilitiesĀ for Consideration as a Candidate:Ā 

  • 2 yearĀ technical / electronics degree and 3 years of industrial controls and electronics experience.Ā 
  • Strong technical experience with Allen Bradley based controls and software (RSLogix,RSView).Ā 
  • Strong technical experience with VFD’s and Servo-based Motion control systems.Ā 
  • Strong troubleshooting skills involving allĀ facetsĀ of machinery (electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic) with emphasis on PLC’s and Control systems.Ā 
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience with multi-tasking and the ability to prioritize with minimal direction.Ā 
  • Ability to function within cross-functional teams (comprisedĀ of peers and subordinates),Ā utilizingĀ good communicationĀ skills and a ā€œhands–onā€ approach within all projects.Ā Ā 
  • Must be able to read and understand English.Ā 

Ā PreferredĀ or Additional,Ā Experience,Ā Education,Ā SkillsĀ andĀ Abilities:Ā 

  • Technical experience with Vision system integration,Ā programmingĀ and maintenance.Ā 
  • Technical knowledge of industrial networking including but not limited to Ethernet, RS 232 /485,Ā andĀ  CANBUSĀ protocols (i.e., DEVICENET, PROFIBUS, etc.).Ā 
  • Understanding ofĀ various typesĀ of tooling and standards (metal stamping, thermal forming, steel rule dies,Ā etc…)Ā Ā 
  • Working knowledge of Fanuc robot programming and maintenance of robotic work cells.Ā 
  • Technical experience with High TonnageĀ pressesĀ (mechanical and hydraulic actuated) and relatedĀ auxillaryĀ equipment.Ā
