How you’ll contributeÂ
The Dialysis Technician is responsible for assembling and maintaining dialysis machines, monitoring patients undergoing dialysis treatment, and maintaining the highest safety and cleanliness standards when operating the machines. Works with a care team that involves a doctor, nurse, social worker and dietician.
A Dialysis Technician who excels in this role will:
- Performs basic patient care activities as delegated including monitoring vital signs, taking blood glucose measurements, and pulse oximitry.
- In collaboration with the RN, will administer specific drugs and solutions as prescribed and according to hospital/unit policy/procedure.
- Reports abnormal assessment findings or changes in physical, mental, and emotional conditions to nursing staff.
- Prepares hemodialysis equipment and solutions for patient use, including bicarbonate and acidified solutions. Cleans and prepares the patient station utilizing infection prevention measures which may include sterile technique.
- Access the patients’ bloodstream via needles or catheter, in addition to the sterilization of the equipment used during dialysis.
- Assists with keeping patient treatment area stocked, clean and orderly.
- Complete Quality Control checks throughout the day.
- Performs clerical duties, aligned with department activities

What we’re looking forÂ
High School Diploma or equivalent required
BLS required
National Nephrology certification required within 18 months of hire
