How you'll contribute

An OB RN Childbirth Educator who excels in this role:

Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate childbirth education programs in accordance with established standards of care, utilizing strong interpersonal, critical thinking, and clinical skills.
Provide education and support to expectant parents and families, promoting informed decision-making and positive birth experiences.
Demonstrate excellent teaching, verbal, and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage diverse audiences.
Understand and respond to the cultural, physical, emotional, and psychological aspects of childbirth, lactation, and parenting.
Present information confidently and effectively in both group and individual settings.
Utilize sound clinical judgment, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills while working independently and collaboratively.
Maintain composure and effectiveness in a fast-paced, potentially stressful environment and take appropriate action when needed.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

What we're looking for

Applicants should have a current Michigan RN license and possess an associate’s degree from an accredited nursing school (bachelor’s preferred).

Additional requirements include:

Basic Life Support Health Care Provider (BLS-HCP)
Previous experience in OB and Childbirth Education
Childbirth Educator Certification (preferred)
Annual influenza vaccination or declination
