Job Description:

Job Title: Associate Counselor- SUD

Location: Hannibal, MO
Department: Outpatient Behavioral Health
Employment Type: Full-time
Shift: Monday – Friday, 8:00 A.M. – 5:00 P.M.

Job Summary:

As an Associate Counselor, you'll assist individuals in accordance with their treatment plans under the close supervision of a Qualified Addiction Professional. Our ideal candidate is passionate about behavioral health, has foundational experience in counseling, and strong communication and collaboration skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in screening/assessment processes under supervision

  • Develop individualized treatment plans

  • Complete timely correspondence and documentation

  • Attend clinical staffing/team meetings

  • Meet weekly Collaborative Service Goal (CSG) expectations

  • Ensure documentation aligns with treatment plans and standards

  • Facilitate group and individual counseling sessions

  • Assist clients through transitions and discharge processes

  • Maintain professional relationships and adhere to ethical standards

  • Handle crisis situations appropriately

  • Complete annual training per ASAM standards

Education and/or Experience Qualifications:

Missouri Requirements:

  • Associate’s degree or high school diploma/equivalent required

  • Must meet trainee registration and supervision requirements per Missouri Credentialing Board or relevant professional board

  • Supervision by a Qualified Addiction Professional who has completed MCB Clinical Supervision Training

Additional Qualifications:

  • Basic knowledge of case management and rehabilitation methods

  • Understanding of therapeutic theories and techniques

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to conduct individual and group interventions

  • Familiarity with behavioral science principles and counseling techniques
