Position: Assistant Extrusion Line Operator
Location: Hanover, PA
Pay: $22.23/hour + Differential shift pay $0.45
Shift: 7:00pm-7:00am
Rotating schedule of 12 hour shifts 3 days on, two days off, two days on, three days off. Work approximately 15 days a month and have a three day weekend every other weekend!

While reporting to the Production Manager as the Assistant Operator, you will be responsible for assisting the Press Operator on a flexographic printing press to produce printed rolls of film, according to company and customer specifications and quality standards, in the most effective and economical manner possible while maintaining assigned work area in a clean and orderly fashion.

What you'll be doing:

  • Starts and operates Spin Welding machines.  Makes adjustments as necessary to ensure proper operation and ensure product complies with quality specifications.

  • Inspects welded cartridges to insure adequate weld, proper flashing trim-off, and removal of dust by vacuum system.

  • Performs repair and part replacement work on Spin welders, ACO’s, Scrapers and Conveyors/Elevators.

  • Conscientiously observes all safety precautions concerning operation of machines.

  • Learns the functions of the Press Operator; the Press Assistant could be called upon to fill in during the absence of a Press Operator and perform other duties as directed or requested by Shift Leader or Production Manager.

  • 2 to 3 years' operating manufacturing machinery.

  • Proficiency with basic machine shop tools.

  • Ability to work well with others in a sometimes-stressful environment.

  • Ability to work overtime as needed.

  • Physical ability to lift 50 lbs.

  • Must be able to work 12 hr. days.

  • Basic mechanical aptitude: Ability to troubleshoot and make equipment mechanical adjustments / repairs as necessary.

  • Manual dexterity required for operating machinery and computers

  • Ability to relate well to others and maintain effective working relationships.
