Position Summary

The Warehouse Manager leads a team responsible for the coordination and execution of all Customer Shipping/Receiving and, in certain plants, Planning functions. Has responsibility for Safety, Quality, Employee Relations and Costs in their respective departments of responsibility.

Duties

Operational Excellence ( 35%)
o Monitors and corrects problems to ensure the work environment is safe and complies with federal and state regulatory agencies
o Ensures accuracy of product reconciliation documentation and supporting procedures (Incoming product quantities, accurate receipts and BOL, damage reporting).
o Ensures accuracy of return shipment quantities and Ship To: locations.
o Strives for continuous improvement by analyzing new or alternative ways to improve inbound and outbound shipments using lean tools, data-based decision-making, and evaluating and improving flow.
o Audits area standard work, making corrections as necessary and identifying processes for targeted continuous improvement events.
o Responsibilities can also extend to the Planning function. This group is responsible for managing the overall processing schedule to ensure Customer turn time and processing requirements are met.
o Supports facility capacity management process through active participation with site management team.
o Production schedule is expected to maximize uptime efficiency to ensure maximum processing volume.
o Has budget responsibility for their respective departments of responsibility.
People Leadership (35 %)
o GPS role of monthly 1-on-1 meetings for performance (+ or -).
o Leads warehouse staff by creating a safe work environment, collaborates across job functions managing logistics issues. Compliance with DOT(CTPAT), FDA, OSHA, EPA regulations.
o Audits adherence to standard work, revising as necessary.
o Develops KPI for area of responsibility, provides coaching to direct reports to ensure understanding. Identify development opportunities related to inefficiencies for succession preparation.
o Where applicable, optimizes the planning and scheduling of irradiators/vessels/accelerators.

Duties - cont'd

Customer Relationships ( 15%)
o Routine Customer interaction directed towards arranging and coordinating product deliveries and shipments. Potential for the need to create split shipments and direct products to varying locations. This includes complying with CTPAT requirements and DOT regulations related to shipping of Hazardous Materials.
o In facilities where the Planning function reports into this position, a higher degree of Customer interaction will be involved related to the scheduling of products for processing. This extends to the evaluation of processing suitability for new products and dose ranges and the creation and updating of Customer Processing Specifications.
o Provide support to Customer audits as needed. Participation on Customer visits and Business Reviews.
Delivering Results ( 15%)
Ensures performance across a range of activities and metrics within their area:
o Customer Service – timely receipt of inbound Customer production loads, accurate and timely outbound shipment of Customer loads, timely scheduling of Customer production loads, timely response to Customer inquiries.
o Ensure accuracy at product receipt, scheduling and outbound shipping. Minimize Customer product damage and Quality (NC/CC) issues. Investigate Quality issues as they arise.
o Ensure adherence to Safety and Quality requirements while handling Customer products, operating equipment and performing routine job functions.
o Engage workforce using Lean Principles while seeking to improve Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost).
o Manage area expenses to ensure P&L targets are achieved.

Education Degree

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • High School Diploma or GED

Required Experience

  • Bachelors Degree Prefrerred and 8 years of leadership experience
  • or a High School Diploma and 10 years of Leadership Experience 

Preferred Experience

  • A background in safety
  • Strong experience in technology, computer systems, and excel
  • Customer service experience
  • Experience Leading in a unionized environment

Skills

  • Leading teams of multiple people, including Planning function in identified locations
  • Manages in and outbound logistics flow. May manage production planning function based on facility organization

Pay range for this opportunity is - $90,000 - $100,000.  This position is eligible for bonus participation.

 

Minimum pay rates offered will comply with county/city minimums, if higher than range listed.  Pay rates are based on a number of factors, including but not limited to local labor market costs, years of relevant experience, education, professional certifications, foreign language fluency, etc.
