Summary of Responsibilities:
The Form Carpenter is responsible for constructing, forming, and installing wood, metal, and other materials to meet the requirements of the provided layout and construction plans, including parking lots, sidewalks, curbs, walls, frames, foundations, structures, and other construction-related fixtures.

The Take Charge FORM CARPENTER:
Ensures quality at a productive rate on each project
Ā· Performs form carpentry in an efficient and productive manner to ensure production and schedule goals are met
Ā· Reads and analyzes construction drawings, sketches, diagrams, and layouts with supervisors to determine proper dimensions, shapes, and designs of required formwork and framing
Ā· Uses precise measurements to cut and assemble formwork, stakes, boards, plywood, keyway, paving baskets, expansion materials, and other building materials used to execute the framing of concrete paving
Ā· Properly secures formwork and related materials using screws, nails, bolts, rods, anchors, and other fastening devices
Ā· Properly uses hand saws, electric saws, gas-powered saws, hand tools, generators, pumps, and other small tools and equipment during the execution of work items
Ā· Uses levels, rules, tape measures, framing squares, and surveying equipment to ensure structures are level, properly aligned, and plumb
Ā· Properly cuts, ties, and assembles required steel, rebar, and re-forcing within concrete work items
Ā· Verifies and performs grading of base and sub-base materials as necessary and assigned to achieve required pavement widths and thicknesses
Ā· Performs all other duties as assigned by supervisors
Maintains equipment and tools to ensure long-lasting use
Ā· Maintains clean tools and equipment and removes trash, debris, and other material from work areas and jobsites daily
Ā· Performs tool and equipment inspections daily and properly completes inspection reports
Ā· Performs other jobsite cleanup duties as assigned by supervisor, specifically cleanup and organization that is required to be completed in the immediate work vicinity, and maintains a secure and safe jobsite

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
⢠Basic experience with power equipment, including powder-actuated tools, saws, drills, chippers, and grinders
⢠Work independently and complete daily activities according to the work schedule
⢠Able to lift heavy objects, walk, and stand for long periods of time, and perform strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions
⢠Basic knowledge of heavy construction, specifically concrete paving, and the related blueprints
⢠Able to communicate orally and in writing
⢠Knowledge of the proper use of equipment, materials, and supplies used in construction work
⢠Knowledge of safety precautions
⢠Understand, follow, and transmit written and oral instructions
⢠Meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency
Education and/or Experience:
Three to five years of related experience or training in the construction industry as a Form Carpenter.
***You must be a Form Carpenter specializing in concert with 3-5 years of experience,Ā

Physical Demands/Working Conditions:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction sites. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. This position is performed in outside weather conditions.
