Freese and Nichols is currently searching for a Water and Wastewater Treatment Engineer to serve as a Project Manager in our San Antonio, Corpus Christi, or Harlingen, TX offices. As a project manager, you’ll guide multidisciplinary teams through the planning and delivery of large, complex, and essential systems.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead and oversee the analysis, design, construction administration, and preparation of technical reports, plans, and specifications for various water treatment, wastewater treatment, reuse, and resource recovery facility projects. 
  • Lead and mentor a team of engineers and designers across multiple offices and disciplines
  • Work as a seller/doer, remaining highly client facing and involved in project delivery
  • Coordinate scope, schedule, and budget to ensure high-quality, on-time project delivery
  • Serve as primary client contact, maintaining communication, trust, and long-term relationships
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts on advanced technologies such as MBR, EBPR, RO, and desalination
  • Support proposal development and participate in business development with existing and prospective clients
  • Must have a proven ability to build and maintain trusted advisor relationships with clients, both internal and external, as well as representatives of local, state and federal regulatory agencies.
  • The individual must have proven skills in managing complex projects, multi-discipline treatment plant projects and teams. Experience with projects in the $1M+ fee range is a plus.
  • Must have a mix of technical experience including but not limited to water and wastewater process design, an understanding of treatment plant civil/structural/mechanical/electrical design, treatment process studies, and construction contract administration and management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Environmental Engineering or related field 
  • Texas Professional Engineer (PE) license (or the ability to become licensed in Texas within 6 months.)
  • 15+ years of related water and wastewater treatment experience with emphasis on plant process evaluation, design, and construction of municipal water or wastewater treatment plants.
  • Strong communication skills, written and verbal, and strong presentation and sales skills needed.

Preferred:

  • Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering
