Mountain Lake Inn Saranac Lake is searching for Full-Time Maintenance Technicians to join our team of hospitality professionals. Our Maintenance Technicians inspect, maintain, and repair mechanical, electrical, and other equipment, in addition to maintaining the natural beauty of our unique location.  Working closely with the GM and other staff, our Maintenance Techs are vital to the success of the property, supporting our reputation in the hospitality industry by ensuring every guest has a superior experience throughout their stay.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Creates a safe and attractive environment for guests and associates by ensuring the hotel is maintained in accordance with safety standards
  • Completes hotel room and building repairs such as replacing filters, light bulbs, door locks, screen doors, and painting
  • Performs repairs on toilets, sinks, laundry facilities, and other hotel fixtures
  • Develops plans for completing routine, preventative maintenance, and renovations
  • Coordinates work with hotel department managers
  • Maintains safety and cleanliness of the exterior of the hotel, pool, pool area, and hot tub
  • Ensures hotel adheres to all regulatory and safety standards by meeting with government and insurance inspectors and taking corrective action as needed
  • Performs repairs on housekeeping equipment including carts, vacuums, and carpet cleaners
  • Assists in laundry with changing chemicals on machines and cleaning lint screens
  • Empties outdoor trash receptacles and dog waste receptacles at regular intervals
  • Pressure washes balconies and sidewalks as needed
  • Cleans carpet as needed
  • Keeps Front Desk updated as to duties being performed and status of project
  • Maintains a friendly, cheerful, and courteous demeanor always
  • Maintains customers’ privacy
  • Maintains a high level of professional appearance and demeanor
  • Treats all coworkers with respect
  • Adheres to all hotel policies and procedures as outlined by hotel standards and Federal, State, and Local laws, including OSHA regulations
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Successful Candidates Must Have:
  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of three years hotel or apartment maintenance experience
  • HVAC certification preferred
  • Knowledge of basic electrical and plumbing maintenance
  • Experience with general maintenance tools
  • Troubleshooting ability with skills in painting, HVAC, and carpentry
  • Computer skills such as typing and navigating property management systems required
  • Knowledge of surrounding areas and local events
  • Ability to work weekends
