Penn National Insurance is now collecting applications for our 2026 Intern Program which is aimed at providing an opportunity for a student in a related degree program to work within company operations first-hand with the goal of career development. The Intern will apply skills related to the concepts, principles, and methodologies of their associated major. This internship will exposure the student to projects and assignments where they can apply knowledge and higher order thinking skills (critical thinking, analysis, synthesis, evaluation, complex problem solving) to real world situations.

Internships may be available in our Harrisburg, PA and Greensboro, NC locations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • The intern will have a detailed work plan provided by the division outlining the project, assignments and overview of the planned timeframe of the internship.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Performs other duties as may be assigned by the assigned Manager.

SPECIAL RELATIONSHIPS

  • Direct contact with division leaders and other office personnel

QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Credentials

  • Pursuit of college/university major in relation to internship specialty

Experience

  • Prior work experience not necessary

Technical/Professional Knowledge

  • Good math aptitude
  • Good research, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Good customer service skills
  • Good PC skills, with an emphasis on Microsoft Office Suite
  • Must be a self-starter with an ability to learn
