Select Medical is opening a brand new Neuro Transitional Center in Harrisburg, PA. We're looking for an entrepreneurial-minded clinician with a passion to serve and a strong sense of patient advocacy to help us launch this important new rehab resource. 

 

You will educate and guide brain and spinal cord injury patients toward our residential program while building relationships in the local medical community to help grow referrals and admissions.

 

 

You’ll draw on your clinical experience to evaluate patients and recommend care options—often introducing our services to those who may not yet know how we can help. You will connect with clinicians throughout the market to open doors so more patients have access to residential therapy.

Responsibilities

Position Summary

 

In this highly visible, challenging, and rewarding position, you will assume a leadership role, developing and nurturing professional relationships with case managers, physicians, and clinicians in acute care hospitals; educating staff, patients, and families on our residential rehab services.  

 

Specific Duties

  • Develop and build our referral base across Central Pennsylvania
  • Advocate for patients by helping them access our life-changing residential rehab services
  • Educate physicians, patients, and families who may be unfamiliar with our level of care
  • Create target lists of contacts and decision makers in assigned hospitals. Develops relationships, provides excellent customer service, and educates referral sources on services provided by the hospital
  • Obtain insurance approvals and authorizations for patients
  • Develop marketing strategies and business plans to grow the referral base for the Center

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Current and valid state licensure or eligibility for state licensure as a Registered Nurse, Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapist, or Speech Language Pathologist required. Multi-state licensure required based on geographical territory.

Preferred Experience

  • Two years of experience working with patients who have suffered Brain Injury or Spinal Cord Injury. 
  • Previous experience working in a clinical liaison role 
  • Experience with insurance approvals, prior authorizations, and the appeals process.
