This is a merit-hire position. The starting pay rate is $24.10. Dauphin County Children & Youth Services is currently accepting applications for the Full-time Paralegal position. The full-time Paralegal position performs complex legal drafting which requires the utilization of organization and word processing skills, and the application of independent judgement. Work involves skilled drafting of a variety of documents for the Legal Department. Work includes responsibility for maintaining numerous cases including creating and maintaining individual files for children at the direction of the Agency Solicitor.

Minimum Education, Experience and Training Requirements:

 

  • Completion of an associate degree or post baccalaureate certificate in legal, paralegal or legal assistant studies or other related field, and two years performing legal support work.

 

Other Requirements:

At the time of hire, a valid driver’s license and positive driving record, a favorable criminal background check, child abuse and FBI clearances, as well as favorable references are required. The applicant must provide proof of a valid Pennsylvania driver’s license within 60 days from the date of hire. An alternative form of identification will be accepted if you are not eligible to receive a Pennsylvania driver’s license under 67 PA. Code § 83 and driving is not an essential function of the position.
