JOB DESCRIPTION
Summary/Objective
Tellers are the first point of contact for our customers and their connection to many transactions that they can initiate while visiting the branch. They must be able to adapt to customer needs, complete service transactions, and refer customers to another branch employee for additional support when needed. They provide exceptional customer service while having conversations and building relationships.
Tellers have a built-in career path for the individual that will include learning new accounts and consumer lending within a specified amount of time.
Essential Functions
- Put customers at the center of everything they do by providing primary customer care at the teller line.
- Demonstrate care and understanding by engaging customers in conversations, actively listening, asking questions, and leveraging available conversation starters as needed.
- Work as part of a team to help customers succeed financially.
- Introduce customers to the appropriate banker or internal partner to proactively help meet their financial needs and provide appointment setting options as appropriate.
- Maintain a cash drawer including cash handling and balancing.
- Conduct basic services and account maintenance and transactions for customers.
- Complete service requests and support the branch customer experience through lobby leadership. Assist customers with address changes, contact information updates, check orders, debit card issuance and maintenance, and online access setup and resets.
- Serve as risk management leaders by understanding and managing risks in the business, adhering to policies, procedures and controls, and ensuring compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations.
- Promote all products and services to ensure customers have everything they need for a successful banking experience.
- Adhere to all Legence Bank Standards, serving as an example to other team members, as well as to our customers.
- Represent and promote the Company within the community.

Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment including, but not limited to, computers, fax machines, scanning equipment.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and ability to adjust focus. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 30 pounds.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
The employee must be available during the "core" work hours of 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. for a minimum of two Saturdays per month. Part-Time Team Members will not work more than 30.00 hours in a given week.
Travel
Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be expected.
Required Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- 1 year of Cash Handling Experience Preferred
Preferred Education and Experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Able to quickly learn new software
- Valid Driver’s License
