Job Summary The Accounts Payable Clerk is responsible for processing vendor invoices, reconciling statements, preparing weekly disbursements, and maintaining accurate financial records. This role ensures timely payments, supports department managers with invoice approvals, and helps maintain accurate vendor and general ledger accounts. Key Responsibilities • Receive, sort, and verify invoices, identifying purchase order vs. standard invoices. • Route standard invoices to department managers for approval and coding. • Post purchase order invoices into the system, verifying accuracy and coordinating corrections with Materials Management when needed. • Post approved standard invoices with accurate general ledger coding. • Review vendor monthly statements and follow up on invoices outstanding more than 60 days. • Print weekly Accounts Payable checks and prepare them for mailing. • Scan and file paid invoices weekly. • Maintain up-to-date vendor information, including IRS Form W-9 documentation. • Respond to daily vendor and internal inquiries regarding invoice or payment status. • Review outstanding checks, contact vendors as needed, and submit the annual Unclaimed Property report to the State of Arkansas. • Prepare annual IRS Form 1099-MISC. • Assist with preparation of annual audit materials. • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Controller.   Job Qualifications Required: • High school diploma or GED, with emphasis in business or office occupations. • At least one year of office or clerical experience. • Accurate typing skills and computer proficiency. • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English. Preferred: • Some college coursework in accounting. • One to two years of accounting experience, particularly in hospital accounts payable.
